Frequently Asked Questions
Java Fundraising allows youth groups, school, churches, faith-based groups and other organizations to raise money for their cause by selling coffee, K-cups and hot cocoa to their friends, family and community members. Participating groups keep up to 50% of their group sales.
Unique to the industry, Java Fundraising provides groups with an online store, customized digital and print marketing collateral, email and social media templates and easy to understand video-based “how-to” modules to support their campaigns.
How much money do you want to make??! The calculation is easy! The group gets up to 50% of its sales! We have a simple group calculator that shows how many units you will need to sell to hit your fundraising goal. The formula is: a) Number of individuals in group, b) multiplied by average unit sold goal, c) multiplied by $20 for each coffee unit sold, d) multiplied by 50%.
Example: 100 individuals X 20 units X $20 X 50% = $20,000 for the group
Absolutely not! We help you set up your event and create your custom-branded marketing materials and online store for you at no cost.
No! We understand that there are a lot of community organizations out there that do not have the resources to file for non-profit status.
Becuase coffee is not taxable, there aren't any special hoops to jump through.
As such, we are here to support any organization in their fundraising efforts, regardless of their non-profit status.
Typically we ask each group to sell a minimum of 300 coffee units. We create custom flyers, order forms, and coffee labels for your group as well as labor involved to individually package materials for your group and then ship it to your fundraising coordinator. All of those expenses are directly incurred by us, so we ask each group to help by hitting the minimum goal.
We can have your order forms ready for you to proof and your online store set up within days!
We recommend your event last between 3-4 weeks. You want to give you participants enough time to go out and collect orders. Having a firm cut-off date is important to ensure a sense of urgency to meet fundraising goals, as well as setting a firm commitment to the people ordering from you on WHEN they will receive their orders.
We know that many groups offer trinkets and trash as a way to encourage your participants to hit their goals. The truth is...companies that do that are using YOUR PROFITS to buy that stuff!
That said...we DO HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you create incentives for your own group. This way you can use YOUR PROFITS the best way you see fit!
A few simple ideas are:
- Let them keep a percentage of their personal sales
- Buy a certain number of gift cards for your top sellers
- Give a raffle ticket for each unit an individual sells and then have an end of event raffle
- No technology or set up for your group! JavaFundraising manages it all.
- No individual collecting of money
- No need to input individual orders
- All orders are tracked back to individual sales accounts
- Overall less work for group coordinator
- Handing out cards still gives youth face-to-face opportunity to pitch their cause
- Can use email to get sign-ups
- Offers supporters ability to pay with a credit card
Great! Some groups already have eCommerce capabilities. You can set up your own online store if you wish and collect all of your sales directly into your own bank account. In this case, we work with you to make sure you set up the inventory correctly as well as make sure you are collecting the correct information so we can process each order. One of our customer account managers will walk you thru each step of the process if this is the way you want to run your fundraiser!
JavaFundraising is proud to feature coffee exclusively in partnership with award-winning Dillanos Coffee Roasters. Founded in the Pacific Northwest, and in business for more than 20-years, Dillanos grew from a tiny three-person outfit in 1992 to a nationally recognized roaster with more than 1,500 customers across the country and is the country's most recognized specialty coffee brands. Their distribution network allows us to ship huge orders anywhere in the U.S. We can assure you that our coffee is second to none. While you can find Dillanos in the specialty items section of most grocery stores, its primary customers are Café’s who make coffee for a living. To learn more, go to: www.dillanos.com
You bet it is! Your coffee is roasted and packaged to order. We’ll have your coffee fresh roasted, private-label vacuum-packaged and shipped to you within 14 days of roasting!
We can ship anywhere in the continental U.S.
Shipping to your group coordinator is always free as long as your order is a minimum of 300 units.
Your order will arrive on pallets to a single location of your choice.
PLEASE NOTE: We are talking about hundreds to thousands of pounds of coffee on pallets! Think about a good location for such a large delivery. Our shipping team will coordinate with you to make sure it is a location we can get our trucks and pallet jacks into!
Great question...and very important!
One of the biggest reason your group keeps 50% of its sales is that you are responsible for both sales and distribution of your fundraising products.
NOTE: Anything ordered through the online store will still be delivered as part of the big group order. This means the individual who makes the sale WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO DELIVER THAT PRODUCT. So, if Uncle Tim in New York buys something from his nephew Jimmy in Washington State, Jimmy will need to ship Uncle Tim his coffee at his own expense.
We know coordinating with hundreds of families can be a lot of work. So we make it EASY FOR YOU!
You will receive one big shipment on pallets.
As you start unpacking the bigger boxes, you will find smaller boxes inside, individually labled for each of your participants.
We can also sub-divide packing into other lots. For example, you may want theordersers by TEACHER or COACH and inside of that order, you would have INDIVIDUAL ORDERS.
There are no taxes! Regardless of whether or not you are a non-profit…coffee is a non-taxable item.
